When he was in the states Dr. Searcy was 


 *Volunteer Counselor for the Memphis Tennessee Suicide Prevention and Crisis Intervention Center.


* did internship Southeast Mental Health Center in Memphis, TN that included multi-disciplinary case management/staffing, adult and child therapy. 


* Dr. Searcy did a practicum in counseling inmates at the Shelby County Penal Farm and continued as a volunteer counselor for two years after the practicum.


* He did a jail ministry for the White County Jail & the College Church of Christ in Searcy, Arkansas 


* Member of the board of directors of the Grace House Women’s Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program in Memphis, TN. 


* Professional Mental Health Worker on an inter-disciplinary team for Northeast Mental Health Center in Memphis, TN (1982-84) – held three positions at different times: 


   (1) Group Therapist for Advanced Day Treatment, 


   (2) Community Follow-up Psychiatric Social Worker, and 


   (3) Hospital Liaison with the acute care mental hospital Memphis Mental Health Institute (MMHI), and the State of Tennessee Department of Mental Health.


Most clients were diagnosed with schizophrenia, bi-polar affective disorder (manic/depressive), paranoid schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder.

Scoutmaster, Boy Scouts of America (BSA) International Troop 140 - Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa  (Jun 2000-Nov 2009) – nine+ years; twenty-one scouts became Eagles during this time; troop was comprised of scouts from many nations


· Assistant Scoutmaster, Boy Scouts of America (BSA) - Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa (Sep 1999 - May 2000)


· Cub Scout Pac Master, International Boy Scouts of America Pac 140 - Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa (Jan 1999 - May 2000); was asked by the international community to take the place of Center for Disease Control (CDC) Dr. Louise Martin-Klauke when she was killed in the US Embassy bombing in August 1998
