Dr. William "Bill" H. Searcy is the founder and sole provider of SearcyCare. SearcyCare began when terrorists bombed the American Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa in 1998. Dr. Searcy was living as a missionary/professor/counselor in Kenya at the time. He became one of the main trauma counselors for the embassy and for the Kenyan community. Soon Dr. Searcy was counseling many diplomats for numerous foreign embassies and the UN.
In Kenya SearcyCare International Counseling and Consultancy was an international counseling service and development consultancy. It provided counseling services to the Kenyan and international communities, including the diplomatic (UN & embassies), missionary, business, international schools and other expatriate communities. Dr. Searcy was an accredited supervisor in the Kenya Counseling Association (KCA).
In 2010 after eighteen years in Kenya, Dr. Searcy and his family moved to the USA, their country of origin. In 2014 he was certified as a Fee Based Practicing Pastoral Counselor by the State of North Carolina. Although he retired in 2022, he continues providing counseling services part-time as a spiritually integrated pastoral counselor. SearcyCare, LLC was established in 2014. Dr. Searcy has offices in Raleigh, NC at the Brooks Ave. Church of Christ and in Rocky Mount, NC at the Westside Church of Christ. He uses his training and extensive living and traveling experience in 80 countries on 7 continents to provide care for individuals, couples, families and groups.
On July 1, 2025, Dr. Searcy was appointed by NC State House of Representatives, ratified by the NC Senate in General Assembly, to the State Board of Examiners of Fee Based Practicing Pastoral Counselors for the 2024-2028 term
